A Bizarre New Houseplant
African violets add color and cheer to your windowsill all year—if they bloom, that is. And there's the rub. Often, no matter how much we feed them and coddle them, the darn things refuse to flower.
That's why breeders came up with a somewhat bizarre (but strangely attractive) new African violet called NeverFloris. Its name says it all—the plant never blooms. Instead, it has tight clusters of tiny buds that have the look and feel of lime-green flower clusters, even though they never actually open into blooms.
If you can't live without the typical bright flowers of an African violet, NeverFloris may not be for you. But if lush foliage and clusters of interesting buds intrigue you, give this easy-care houseplant a try.
