Time to Order Seeds!
 |
Seed catalogs make great winter companions. Curl up on the couch with one, or a dozen, and soon you'll be dreaming of a host of newcomers you'll want to plant in your beds.
Ordering seeds by mail (or online) is a time-honored tradition. But you want to make sure that the company you order them from is reliable. Here are some we plan to use this year.
- Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds offers more than 1400 heirloom varieties, and its catalog is so beautiful you'll want to keep it for inspiration.
- Burpee has been selling seeds since 1876. It offers plants for every zone and has more than 80 new varieties in its 2013 catalog.
- Renee's Garden is exceptional in every way, including pretty, watercolor seed packets, detailed growing instructions and extraordinary selections.
- Seed Savers Exchange is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people collect and share heirloom seeds. You'll find grandma's seed here!
- Territorial Seed Company is a family-owned company known for its wide variety of quality seeds and commitment to plant trials that ensure growing success.
