From Gloves to Bugs: We Love This Gear!
We've had fun checking out some new garden gear this summer. These three were a few of our favorites.
Goatskin Garden Gloves
Goatskin sets these Hestra Kobolt Garden Gloves apart from the rest of the pack. They're soft from the get-go and stay that way, unlike leather. They're also very durable and flexible. The tops of the gloves are made of breathable spandex. They're available in green or fuschia.
We spent less time watering some container plants this summer, thanks to the Watering Globe and Plant Nanny Stakes system. Simply insert the terra cotta stake into soil, fill the glass globe with water and insert into the stake. The water slowly seeps out of the stake as needed. There are other styles that can be used with empty water or wine bottles.
Forget heavy chemicals to fight off mosquitoes. We kept them away no matter where we were in the garden with the Terminix AllClear SideKick Mosquito Repeller. It clips to a belt or pants, so it goes where you go. Turn it on, and it emits a barely detectable but effective repellent of natural oils. The same technology is used for their tabletop unit, which also worked beautifully.
