Video: Create a Festive Centerpiece
Festive Centerpiece
The tree's decorated and the stockings are hung, making your home cozy and inviting. How can you make the holiday table feel the same?

With a little imagination and a few items from the grocery store, you can make a centerpiece that embodies the festive spirit of the season.

You can use any number of items to create it—evergreens, ribbons, dried berries or even wrapped boxes that look like tiny gifts. We especially like gardening expert P. Allen Smith's idea to use fresh apples, a few crabapples from his garden and some greenery to create a traditional topiary for the table.

Follow Smith's suggestions and use apples and other fruits that are available in your part of the country, or just let his ideas inspire your own unique table display. Either way, you're sure to warm your guests' hearts by doing a little something extra to make mealtime particularly merry this season.
